In August 2020, the Big Ten announced there would be no fall football due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Sports Networks are some of the most expensive channels in Norvado’s lineup, and when live sports were put on pause due to the pandemic, we continued to pay these high prices despite not receiving the content that was contractually obligated to us and to our customers.
With the best interest of our customers at the forefront, Norvado made the decision to drop the Big Ten Network from our TV channel lineup upon the expiration of our previous agreement on August 31, 2020. We issued a monthly Regional Sports Network Credit to all Norvado video customers to acknowledge and compensate for the loss of these channels.
In the meantime, we’ve continued to negotiate details of a new agreement with the Big Ten Network on the behalf of our customers.
Effective October 22, 2020, the Big Ten Network will be available once again in Norvado’s channel lineup. With this new agreement in place, Norvado is able to continue to provide our customers with the high quality sports content they have come to expect, and just in time for the upcoming game.
