New fiber construction project will enable internet, television, and phone services via super high-speed facilities to over 1,500 locations.
July 1, 2022, Cable, WI: Norvado’s announcement of a $9.8 million project is exciting news for businesses and residents of the area between Winter and Clam Lake. This project, scheduled for completion in 2024, will provide Gigabit services to over 1,500 locations in the area. With minimum speeds of 300/300 Mbps, the residents and businesses of this construction area will be able to take advantage of one of the best internet values in the country. This type of world-class internet enables work and school from home, high-tech home automation, and streaming television services.
“For more than 70 years, Norvado has been focused on using cutting-edge technology to deliver innovative communications services to residents and businesses across Northern Wisconsin,” said Chad Young, CEO, Norvado. “Our broadband service, backed by our world-class fiber network, helps Northwoods businesses to thrive and gives our residents the very best in communications, online entertainment, home automation, and more. With this announced construction fiber project, we are taking the consumer experience in this area to the next level.”
For residents and businesses in the construction area, this plan marks a major step in the transition from the legacy copper DSL network to Norvado’s state-of-the-art, high-speed fiber broadband network. Norvado will move residents and businesses as quickly as possible on to the new fiber network, with this changeover expected to be fully completed in 2024. With the new fiber network, residents will now be able to select from speed tiers ranging from 300/300 Mbps to 1/1 Gbps—compared to maximum speeds of 20/2 Mbps on copper—while businesses can start at 500/500 Mbps and go up to 2/2 Gbps.
Norvado’s fiber-based broadband network forms the foundation for a wide range of residential services including internet, managed WIFI, TV, phone, smart home, and business solutions such as internet, voice, video, network, security, telecommuter services and more.
